Our Story
Obelisk Tours was founded in 2022 by Lauren Sutherland, based near Clyde in the heart of Central Otago.

Tourism has always been part of Lauren’s life. Her family has spent years working across New Zealand’s most iconic destinations — from flying passengers around Aoraki / Mount Cook and exploring the remote beauty of Fiordland, to operating boutique cruises in Milford Sound.
​
Lauren herself has a broad and hands-on background in tourism. From crewing vessels to organising cycle tour packages along the Central Otago trails, she understands what it takes to create seamless, enjoyable, and genuinely memorable experiences.

But more than anything, she understands people — and what makes a trip feel special.
