Terms and Conditions

The below terms and conditions apply to all bookings made and services offered through Obelisk Tours Limited.

Prices

All prices are shown in NZ dollars and include GST.
Minimum number of two people required or the equivalent cost of two people
A surcharge of 25% will apply on public holidays.
Rates quoted are for addresses within 10 kilometres of the location selected. Should your address prove to be beyond this range then we reserve the right to charge an additional $3.50 per kilometre if a longer transfer distance is required.
Obelisk Tours Ltd reserves the right to change its prices up until confirmation, existing bookings already confirmed will be honoured at the original price at the time of booking.

Payment for Travel

All private tours and transfers must be paid in full prior to departure.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or credit card (Visa or Mastercard).
Credit Card payments are accepted but an additional charge of 4% will apply to all Visa and Mastercard credit card transactions.

Booking Confirmation

All bookings are subject to availability up until confirmation.
A 10% deposit is required to confirm your booking.
For all Obelisk Private Tours the balance is due 30 days prior to departure.
For all Obelisk Private Transfers the balance is due 7 days prior to your departure date.

Cancellation Policy

For bookings cancelled up until 30 days prior to arrival date, your booking is fully refundable (less any bank transfer charges) or you can transfer your credit to another date.
For Obelisk Private Tours, for cancellations within 30 days of your arrival date the cancellation fee is $150.00 per person
For Obelisk Private Tours, for cancellations between 7 days and 3 days prior to your arrival, the cancellation fee is 50% of your booking total.
For Obelisk Private Tours, for cancellations within 3 days prior of your arrival date there is no refund.
For Obelisk Private Transfers your booking is fully refundable up until 7 days prior to your departure date.
For Obelisk Private Transfers for cancellations between 7 days and 3 days prior to arrival, the cancellation fee is 50% of your booking total.
For Obelisk Private Transfers cancellations within 3 days prior to arrival, there is no refund.

COVID-19 Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel due to a pandemic or Government issued travel ban that impacts your ability to travel or our ability to operate, we will waive all cancellation fees and you will receive a full refund (less any bank transfer charges).

Booking Amendments or Delays

Luggage allowance

Luggage allowance is one small (carry-on) and one large suitcase (up to 23kgs) per PAYING PASSENGER.
Additional standard size luggage items are carried at our discretion, and must be pre-booked.
Oversized (or extra heavy items) such as cycles and golf clubs will only be carried if pre-booked and pre-paid. Please contact us to book.
It is important to notify Obelisk Tours Ltd of any extra items prior to pick-up, as we may not have sufficient luggage space available.
Obelisk Tours Ltd reserve the right to refuse carriage of luggage items that have not been booked or notified prior to pick-up.
You may be required to assist the driver in loading your luggage.

On-board Behaviour

All passengers are obliged to remain seated whilst the vehicle is moving, and ensure their seat belt is fastened at all times, as per New Zealand law.
Smoking, vaping, eating or the consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted in any of Obelisk Tours Limited vehicles.

Loss or damage

Loss or damage of your personal items or luggage through theft or negligence are not the responsibility of Obelisk Tours Ltd.
Obelisk Tours Ltd strongly recommends Travel Insurance for all passengers.

Dangerous Goods

For safety reasons, articles classified as dangerous goods must not be carried in your baggage unless they have been advised in writing to Obelisk Tours Ltd prior to travel; and they have been accepted for carriage in writing by Obelisk Tours Ltd.
These include but are not limited to: firearms, ammunition, knives, blades, swords, corrosive materials (such as alkalis, acids, wet cell batteries, mercury), e-bike batteries, explosives (fireworks and articles that are easily ignited), flammable liquids and solids (such as heater fuels and flammable aerosols), poisonous, toxic or infectious substances, compressed gases (deeply refrigerated, flammable, non-flammable and poisonous), other dangerous goods (such as offensive or noxious materials).

Events beyond our control

You acknowledge in the event of any environmental “Acts of God“ (earthquake, weather or any other naturally occurring emergency events), global emergencies (war, pandemics etc) or operationally disruptive events (unforeseen traffic congestion, civil event disruption etc) arising, that, whilst employing its best efforts to deliver transport services to you during such events, Obelisk Tours Ltd may not be able to provide the timely delivery of such services to you.
You acknowledge that should such unforeseen events arise, it is your sole responsibility to monitor such events and make changes to your travel plans with Obelisk Tours Ltd or other transport providers to mitigate any such risk these events present to your travel plans in accordance with the terms and conditions stated herein.
In any of these situations (or any situation beyond our control) Obelisk Tours Limited reserves the right to convert affected bookings into open- dated, transferrable tickets, without issuing refunds. Any bookings affected may be transferred to family or friends, and will be valid for use for 24 months.

Modification of Terms and Conditions

Obelisk Tours Ltd reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions from time to time in its sole discretion, without notice or liability to you.
You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as modified.
